This C 63 AMG on Dyno Sounds Like it Wants to Eat You [Video]

This year will forever be remembered as the year of change, when the last naturally-aspirated engine from Mercedes-AMG will exit the scene and be replaced by a more modern, twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant with direct injection.

Internally-codenamed M156 on all the “lesser” models and M159 when modified to power the various versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 from Affalterbach is about to celebrate its eighth and – sadly – final birthday, but this doesn't mean that it wants go without a bang.

In fact, if we were to transform the exhaust noise that can be heard during the following dyno video into a human sound it would probably feel like a death metal growl. either that or the engine angry is as hell for being discontinued at the end of 2014.

Apart from the carbon fiber air intake mentioned in the video's description, we don't know if the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG below has other modifications, although we would certainly vouch for at least a de-catted exhaust system considering the amount of decibels that it seems to deliver.

In its least powerful form, the M156 engine delivers 457 hp and a healthy 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque, or more than enough to turn the rear tires of a C 63 AMG into smoke in just a few seconds.

The torque numbers aren't the real impressive part in the dyno video below though, as the vicious growl of the exhaust system is bound to take away all the glory from any other detail connected to the car. You wouldn't want to meet with this C 63 AMG in a dark alley, would you?
