2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe Pricing Starts At $38,990 [Photo Gallery]

The updated two-door luxury coupe from Caddy will go on sale in the United States at the end of this summer, holding an entry price of $38,990 including the $995 destination fee, which is $6,000 more than the ATS sedan.

Naturally, there are a few differences between the ATS sedan and coupe, but both sport the same performance traits. Riding on the same 109.3-inch wheelbase as its four-door brother, the revised Coupe has 0.8 inches of extra bodywork length and a slightly lower ride height than the sedan.

Due to its wider front and rear tracks and lower roofline, slightly different doors, rear fenders and trunk lid, along with a specific front fascia and standard 18-inch wheels, the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is pretty in a form follows function kind of way.

“All of the surface development unique to the ATS Coupe was done with aerodynamics in mind,” declared David Masch, ATS chief engineer. “We are able to achieve lift and downforce requirements to insure, at top speed, we retain handling without having to add a rear spoiler.”

Offering either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive platforms, the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe will be offered at launch with a choice of two engines. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot churns out 272 horsepower, with torque curve revised to offer 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) from as low as 3,000 rpm. Customers can couple the powerplant to a six-speed manual or a six-speed auto.

As for the 3.6-liter V6 mill, 321 horsepower and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque are at hand thanks to technical solutions such as direct injection and dual overhead cams with continuously variable valve timing. As opposed to the 2.0-liter model, the V6 comes only with the Hydra-Matic 6L45 six-speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control.

Inside, the sedan’s driver-focused cabin carries over to the Coupe, featuring handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstered interior combinations, decorative stitching and authentic materials, including leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood, intended to enhance the emotional connection to the driving experience.

The 2015 Cadillac CTS Coupe may also be equipped with OnStar 4G LTE Internet connectivity with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones, a text-to-voice feature that converts incoming texts to spoken messages played over the Bose audio system, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, a 5.7-inch three-window instrument panel cluster display and a head-up display.

2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Special Edition Revealed [Photo Gallery]

 

Just as we were reporting you a few hours back the first video spotting of the future-gen 2015 ATS-V Coupe, Cadillac has officially taken the wraps off a very special 2015 CTS-V Coupe. The limited edition model marks the last chapter of the current model before the next generation V-Series will debut the following year.

According to the Detroit manufacturer, only 500 units will be made available as soon as the second half of 2014. Demand will most certainly go through the roof, so expect the order book to close as soon as it opens.

Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing manager at Cadillac, declared that: "the V-Series continues to elevate Cadillac, providing an exclusive family of high-performance luxury models that attract a new audience of elite and passionate buyers."

Sharing the high performance goodies of its 2010 - 2014 model year precedessors, the special edition CTS-V Coupe packs 556 horsepower thanks to a supercharged V8 powerhouse, and comes as standard with features such as Cadillac Magnetic Ride Control and track-bred Brembo brakes.

Customers can opt between Black Diamond ($995, pictured in the gallery below), Crystal White and Phantom Grey exterior paint jobs, a sunroof ($700) for enjoying those nice warm Sunday morning drives on the Coast and either a six-speed stick shift box or an automatic transmission.

All 500 units of the special edition 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe boast an exclusive Ebony interior with red contrasting stitching, Recaro bucket seats, metal on the pedals, Midnight Sapele wood trim, microfiber suede-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob for maximum grip, as well as a blacked-out V grille and satin graphite wheels.

Caddy informs that the limited edition model will start production this summer, with full pricing information to be released closer to production.

2015 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe Spotted Testing On Mountainy Roads [Video] [Photo Gallery]

General Motors' answer to the all-new turbocharged BMW M4 and next-gen Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG has been captured on video for the first time. Even though the car sports lots of camouflage, certain tell-tale signs give us a glimpse on what to expect for the 2015 model year coupe version of the brawny ATS-V.

Due to the mountainy roads on which this pre-production mule was spotted, we believe that Cadillac engineers were testing the vehicle under high altitude conditions, which means that the final product is just around the corner.

When the spotters tried to move in closer to get a better look at the 2015 Caddy ATS-V Coupe, the driver mashed his foot down hard on the loud pedal and blasted off like a bat out of hell. Unfortunately, the lousy background music didn't offer us the change to hear how many cylinders lie under this vehicle's hood, nor if the powerplant is normally aspirated or turbocharged.

GM officials revealed a few months ago that the new ATS range of engines will see the addition of an all-new 3.6-liter twin-turo V6 mill, saying it will be more potent than what BMW has to offer. If the Bavarian M model churns out 431 horsepower and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque from its 3.0-liter inline six, we expect the American coupe to offer somewhere around 450 horsepower.

Other tell-tale signs that confirm this car is indeed a pre-production testbed for the updated ATS-V Coupe are the quad exhaust pipes and wide low profile tires, as well as the pumped up wheel arches. Just like the 2015 ATS saloon our carparazzi spied recently, the V Coupe will most likely feature a redesigned front grille and lower radiator grille, as well as the modern wreathless Cadillac logo.
